The Greek feast!

While I was busy with the opening of our new Japanese restaurant in
Odaiba I asked one of my chefs, Kentaro, to help me organise the most
recent Darlinghurst dinner. I was expecting a Japanese menu so was
thrilled to learn that Kenny has a passion for Greek food. A fantastic,
rustic feast was served and the menu received full endorsement from our
Greek regulars, John and Mary. Who knew that this Japanese boy cooks
like a Greek grandmother? The braised octopus was the star of the night!

The next Darlinghurst dinner is happening on Friday 26th August.
Stay tuned for details…

Here at bills we are like family so when the talent of a member of our
team gets discovered we like to share the good press. Our waiter Mason,
from bills Surry Hills, and his band Paper Plane Project have been
unearthed by JJJ radio and their album, Pacific Connection, has since
been released on iTunes.

Their sound is all about mixing soulful beats with hip hop and a good
dose of Brazilian funk; bringing sunshine and an old-school Sunday
afternoon party in the park vibe to your day.

Calm in Kyoto

You know a hotel is beyond amazing when you want to go home and change the
way you live. Hotel Kanra Kyoto did just that on my recent trip to Japan.

From the tiny sugar sweets and iced tea on arrival to the sophisticated
combination of traditional Japanese and contemporary design, this was an
experience of Zen simplicity that you couldn’t not be relaxed by. It was
the perfect way to calm the mind after the busy opening of the most recent
addition to the Japanese family, bills Odaiba.

I hope to return to Hotel Kanra Kyoto very soon! http://www.hotelkanra.jp/
